Join us as a Senior Home Price Index Analyst working among the smartest and most often-quoted real estate analytics professionals in the business. You will develop ZIP code-level, econometric-driven home price models for inclusion in LoanPerformance's industry-leading Home Price Index (HPI) and RiskModel products. You will also perform regular validation and surveillance to track and analyze home price model performance. Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- An advanced degree (Ph.D. or ABD preferred) in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics
- Minimum of 2-3 years' exposure/experience in housing and real estate economics including home price analytics, valuation and forecasting
- Knowledge of statistical/econometric modeling techniques (e.g., time series analysis, survival analysis and Monte Carlo simulation methods)
- Experience in spreadsheet applications and advanced use of statistical applications/databases
- Experience in working with MS Office (especially MS Excel) and business intelligence tools (preferably MicroStrategy)
- Advanced programming ability in SAS
- Ability to write customized programs for meaningful data analysis
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), team driven, client-focused and strong innovation/creativity
- Authorship of technical papers, whitepapers, or published analytical studies
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations both to clients and at conferences Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of home price index methodologies, including the use of Fast Fourier Transform-based techniques
- Experience in the application of home price models to mortgage portfolios
- Expert-level skills in systems design - to design flexible, scalable, production-ready modules and interfaces for use across multiple platforms
- Programming ability in SQL, C++ or Java
- Programming ability in a matrix-oriented language such as Matlab, Gauss, SAS IML or S-Plus
