The Role:

At Netflix we have recently begun to build out the company’s Enterprise Data Warehouse systems using Teradata, Ab Initio, and MicroStrategy. This has created a strong need for a highly motivated developer who can think in the abstract and independently, while collaborating closely with the other members of the team. As a key member of the Analytics team, the Teradata Database Developer will be critical to continuing our progress on the new BI platform upon which Netflix is building its core Business Intelligence initiatives. A major initial goal will be to implement a layer of Teradata objects that adapt the 3rd normal form EDW model to a model appropriate for MicroStrategy and other specialized analytical applications such as marketing segmentation.

Requirements:

Success in this position will require significant (7 or more years) hands-on experience in:

  • Solution architecture, design and programming in the Teradata environment (includes BTEQ scripting, loaders, Teradata SQL, stored procedures, and Teradata DB server concepts such as PPIs).
  • ETL Processing concepts and implementation.
  • Data modeling of OLTP and data warehouse database designs.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.

IT Project Manager/Business Analyst - Rail Europe (White Plains, NY)

Summary

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of assigned IT projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Responsibilities will include the general follow-up of all functional aspects of various IT projects, including overall planning, functional specifications, quality assurance, training/communication, and deployment coordination.

  • Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Establish project planning and ensure standards and procedures defined are applied.
  • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify plan and related scheduling as required.
  • Prepare project status reports and keep management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications.

  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including status reports, risk logs, and other deliverables as needed.

  • Coordinate project activities with commercial teams (marketing, e-commerce, operations, customer service, etc.) to ensure goals and requirements are met.

  • Prepare and present the statement of work and proposals for identified clients in conjunction with account management.
  • Contribute to change management via training materials, user guides, and other documentation; assist commercial teams in execution of training and change management

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of educatioin and experience
  • 2-3 years Project Management or 3-4 years Business Analyst experience
  • 1-2 years in-depth experience in managing the following project phases: analysis/functional specifications, quality assurance, and deployment
  • Proven track record of delivering mid-large scale IT project withing defines budget/planning targets
  • 1+ years experience managing projects with web components (experience in consumer-facing sites a plus)
  • Experience in MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, and MS PowerPoint are required
  • Knowledge of MS Project is highly recommended
  • Can quickly gain knowledge on new systems and changing environment
  • Able to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal oversight; manage priorities and multiple concurrent deadlines with limited management supervision
  • Communicate changes and progress and able to manage project team activities.
  • Has ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs, solicit customer feedback to improve service
  • Respond to requests for service and assistance, effectively manage customer expectations concerning deliverables.
  • Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, respond well to questions, demonstrate group presentation skills, participate in meetings at various levels (status, project steering committee, etc.)
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit, maintain morale of project team under difficult circumstances
  • Exhibit confidence in self and others, and inspire and motivate others to perform well
  • Knowledge of the travel/tourism industry is a plus

The Sr Business Data Analyst is a key role within the Liberty Mutual Personal Market organization. This individual will be working closely with the business and data warehouse and business intelligence teams on tasks such as ensuring data requirements are complete and accurate, analyzing current and proposed data feeds, mapping reporting requirements to source data, developing data models and data definitions, and ensuring data quality.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with identified business reporting and data users on the effective definition and delivery of information via the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence tools.

• Perform ad-hoc data investigation, profiling and analysis to address inquiries and monitor data quality and integrity.
• Drive reporting requirements with key stakeholders in order to deliver functional reporting metrics through a Business Intelligence platform.


Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years related experience. Extensive knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies as well as business process and information flow. Understanding of business practices common across many businesses. Extensive understanding of re-engineering approaches. General knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies. General knowledge of diverse technologies and new and current architectures. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

THE POSITION

This is a chance for the right candidate to help build a strategic pricing and decision sciences team from the ground up. The role will implement and optimize pricing strategies through process / policy controls and variance analysis of established pricing metrics. They will develop, interpret, and implement complex pricing and supply chain techniques for revenue management, contribution maximization and inventory control.

The Manager of Decision Sciences reports to the Sr. Director of Pricing and will have a key role in the development of operational strategy. They will work on multiple concurrent Pricing and Supply Chain related projects as needed in support of corporate initiatives. The manager will oversee a team of Price and Supply Chain analysts and deploy resources as needed. The responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develops and defines appropriate price guidelines and policies based upon historical transaction and market analysis.
  • Creates short term proof of concept “dashboard” diagnostic tools for price analysis efficiencies to multiple groups including; Pricing Team, Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and District Sales Managers.
  • Develops effective segmentation strategy and variance based analysis to define floor and ceiling price points.
  • Collaborates with segment leaders to establish defined price strategies and policies in support of product and customer segment profiling.
  • Builds and leads comprehensive decision support team which applies analytical talent and business acumen to operational and finance initiatives.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The successful candidate will be a strong and persuasive leader. The person must have the ability to work across the organization as a liaison between pricing and other functional groups, identifying cross-functional opportunities for profit maximization, service enhancement and efficiency gains.

  • 4+ years experience in management consulting, a pricing strategy role at a Fortune 500 company, or supply chain strategy role in a major distributor.
  • Outstanding business acumen and analytical skills, with the talent to leverage marketing, finance, strategy, statistics, and pricing disciplines into one role.
  • An ability to identify, structure, and resolve challenging problems, with a strong mathematical modeling emphasis.
  • Disciplined project management skills, with the ability to collaborate exceptionally well across the organization and to leverage talented individuals to deliver results.
  • Proven experience interacting with senior leadership and successfully leading functional and cross-functional teams, especially liaising with sales forces.
  • MBA, top school preferred, or PhD in Economics, Operations Research, or similar field.
