Director, Traffic Analysis - Looksmart (San Francisco, CA)

We are currently seeking a Director of Traffic Analysis to join the LookSmart Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing ad network traffic performance to optimally match traffic supply to advertiser demand
  • Developing tools and infrastructure to enable account managers to manage traffic sources for their accounts

Marketing Mix Modeler - Draftfcb (Chicago, IL)

The Draftfcb Marketing Mix Modeler.

At Draftfcb the M3 will lead quantitative modeling in granular marketing return on objectives/investment partnerships and produce actionable marketing mix analysis for our clients. The M3 should be self directed with prior experience in developing models for a variety of products. The position will report in to the Marketing Mix Practice Lead at Draftfcb.

The Position

  • As an integral part of the marketing mix team, identify the business objectives and financial specifics for marketing accountability specific to each client project.
  • Identify required data sources and level of granularity needed to reach analysis objectives; assess data quality
  • Apply deep understanding of mass media planning and buying, retail audits and scanner data, in-store marketing, direct marketing, online media metrics and elements in the marketing mix (including pricing, and distribution) to develop appropriate modeling strategies
  • Leads the data setup, analysis designs, data transformations and execution of marketing mix models
  • Derive key actionable insights from modeling work and leads management of analyst staff efforts to generate interactive marketing mix optimization tools

The Personality
  • Advanced degree with advanced quantitative coursework (e.g., marketing analytics, model design, statistics, econometrics)
  • 8-10 years’ experience in marketing analytics or related field such as advertising, retail marketing, product marketing, direct marketing, online marketing, loyalty marketing, etc.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in hands-on marketing mix modeling
  • Experience with syndicated data sources such as Nielsen, IRI, and brand health data preferred
  • strong quantitative skills and demonstrable experience in statistical/econometric modeling of marketing investment data
  • Previous experience developing marketing models for a variety of products (CPGs, durables, etc.) and service providers (financial, insurance, telecom etc.)

Responsibilities:

The Manager, Web Analytics will be responsible for proactively leveraging analytical insights from clickstream data to drive site optimization and decision making across the organization.

  • Support the analytic needs of the business by analyzing web traffic and customer behavior using clickstream tools (specifically using Unica’s NetInsight product).
  • Use standard business intelligence tools (Business Objects) to produce reports relating to outcomes.
  • Create clear and comprehensible reports showing data and trends
  • Provide frequent insights and recommendations to internal business clients (Marketing, Merchandising, Creative, Customer Service teams) on current customer behavior
  • Provide frequent recommendations on how to maximize revenue from the storefront via on on-site product positioning and site design elements, as well as how to create the best possible customer experience as a user

  • Gather business requirements for web analytics enhancements and manage roadmap of improvements
  • Gather business requirements for implementing multivariate or A/B testing on the site and be the business leader driving forward the IT project to develop A/B testing
  • Take the lead in using data insights to suggest, support and analyze multivariate or A/B tests that drive improvements to the site and customer experience
  • Develop reporting protocol for new iPhone application to understand how customers use the new technology and our site
  • Help the organization more effectively integrate clickstream data into marketing campaigns via marketing database and Unica campaign tool
  • Provide initiative to stay one step ahead of the organization in leading positive change and optimization, driven by insights from the data
  • Secondarily, provide analytical support to the Marketing Analytics group on such ad-hoc projects as needed, including but not limited to: Analyzing data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits, and measuring the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA a plus.
  • Online retail experience or web analytics experience required
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience providing relevant marketing and web analysis.
  • Familiarity with web analytics implementation and HTML/Javascript coding
  • Proficiency using site reporting/analytic tools such as NetInsight, Omniture, DFA, Webtrends, Visual Science, Coremetrics,WebSideStory, etc.
  • Experience with analytics and/or Business Intelligence tools like MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Crystal Reports or SQL
  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills to drive understanding and advocate for change at senior management level of the organization
