The Position

Title: SAS Programmer (US)
Location: Norcross, GA – Corporate Headquarters
Reports to: John Jelinek, Chief Risk Officer

In this newly created role, the SAS Programmer will play a key role in developing our analytical capabilities in Risk and Fraud for our commercial fuel card portfolio. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing and devloping standard software and data structures
  • Developing and executing statistical programs designed to analyze commercial card portfolios
  • Working on cross functional teams to ensure programming / reporting needs are met
  • Productionalizing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as well as developing ad hoc reporting as necessary

Experience and Education

The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • BA strongly preferred
  • 3+ years of SAS programming experience experience
  • Intermediate / Expert knowledge of data steps, SQL and macro programming
  • Proven track record of solid documentation / data flow skills
  • Expert knowledge of Excel

About the role

For roles in Södertälje and Wilmington, experience of regulatory toxicology would be an advantage. Expert knowledge of a package like SAS, R or S-Plus is essential – and so too are the communication, presentation and consultancy skills to work effectively with scientists and managers at all levels of the business.

The aim of this research is to develop new automated trading and execution strategies that complement those already in use.

The ideal applicant will have substantial research experience in machine learning, data mining or computational statistics, and a Ph.D. in one of engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance or a related field. All levels of experience will be considered. Competency in software development is essential and a thorough knowledge of one or more of C, C++, Matlab/Octave or related languages will be required. Past experience with complex systems, large datasets, statistical and numerical analysis, or time series modeling will be highly regarded. Prior knowledge of or experience in finance is not a pre-requisite, though a strong interest in finance is essential. The working environment is informal, relaxed and has an academic feel. Hence researchers within the group have the possibility of publishing results from selected areas of their work, are encouraged to engage in collaborations with groups from outside the company, and are supported in conference attendance. The research group is divided into small teams (3-5), each with close IT support, so successful applicants should be willing to work harmoniously with other researchers and with the I.T. professionals that support the research.

Scope and responsibilities

This is a key function within the Marketing Science & Innovation Group and the Director, Marketing Science will contribute across all elements of the MSI mission statement.

Specifically this individual will be a primary contact internally for new product development and the execution of project analysis for clients.

Duties include research study design, statistical and modeling analysis, creation of cutting edge methods for new products, and implementation/development of standards for tracking data and other continuous research projects.

The Director, MS will stay abreast of new data analysis techniques and applications from related scientific disciplines and consider how these approaches can improve OTX deliverables.

Experience / skills required

Qualifications must include:

  • Undergraduate degree with work in mathematics; science; quantitative business analysis - Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of related MR experience
  • Extensive knowledge of research computing

Subject Matter Expert / IT Storage - BP (Houston, TX)

The post holder is a ‘link’ between architecture, standards, operations and customers, and as such will be accountable for the integrity of US Hosting Operations existing storage and backup systems as well as operational continuity during introduction of new components across our data centres in Houston, Chicago and Tulsa. Taking a lead in evolving the storage infrastructure into a more efficient and cost effective solution is a key expectation.

The individual in this position will understand how storage and backup systems interface and interact with applications, and with other parts of the infrastructure. A key accountability will be the integration of application solutions into the storage and backup infrastructure with the ability to articulate clearly the benefits of a tiered environment allowing service differentiation.
The Storage SME will:

- Liaise with IT&S, GOI and the Data Centre Global Services and Standards team to understand standards and stay abreast of relevant technology roadmaps.
- Provide guidance to new systems development and projects teams on storage standards and deployment process.
- Work with project teams to directly integrate and coordinate implementation of storage (SAN/NAS) and backup technologies in production environments.
- Manage work requests and coordinate multiple implementation projects.
- Work with SDOs to develop end-to-end technical solutions, installation, configuration and operating plans.
- When required, provide day to day oversight to third party vendors supporting storage components.
- Guide third party vendors in the creation of DR / BCP plans pertaining to the storage and backup systems.
- Provide expert consulting and solutions to business units to meet specific storage and backup needs.
- Contribute to and develop best practices, strategies, methodologies and documentation/templates.

Opportunity for a senior quantitative analyst to lead the research and model development for calculating the financial risks of fixed income assets. The ideal candidate will be familiar with modeling techniques, performance analytics and structured finance and will be able to work in a team environment. Qualifications:

Applicant should have a PhD in a quantitative discipline and 6+ years of demonstrated research experience developing quantitative models in the fixed income market. Summary

The role requested is a Health Safety Security and Environmental (HSSE) Data Analyst. The successful candidate will be accountable for providing accurate HSSE Performance Reporting and the Primary Local Traction System Administrator (LTSA) for the North American Gas Strategic Performance Unit (SPU).

The North America Gas SPU is one of the largest SPU’s within BP’s global Exploration and Production business and is a top tier producer of natural gas in North America. The SPU operates in nine US states and Canada and is staffed by ca. 3,200 employees. The five Performance Units and multiple gas processing plants, is designed to be a sustainable, material business for decades. The SPU operates more than 13,000 producing wells, with reserves >2 bn boe and total production >450 mboed, of which ~75% is operated and ~25% non-operated. The SPU invests more than $2 bn in capital annually, with the majority focused on development drilling and near field exploration. The SPU operates 25 drilling rigs and numerous work-over rigs, maintaining a level loaded program.

Requirements
