Avvo’s mission is to empower consumers to handle their legal matters with confidence. We do this by providing consumers more information and better guidance regarding lawyers and legal matters than they’ve ever had access to before. This includes rating and profiling 90% of the lawyers in the United States, client reviews, peer reviews and attorney disciplinary records. We also offer an industry-leading question and answer forum and legal guides that help consumers get the help they need.

Avvo has gone from concept to market leader in three short years. However we need an experienced and creative marketing mind to help us succeed in our next stage of development. The VP of marketing will be a key member of our executive team, reporting to Avvo’s CEO.

The Senior Data Warehouse / BI developer is a technical leader responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Avvo’s Business Intelligence infrastructure, including the data warehouse, reporting tools, analytic tools, and data integration tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads the overall design and implementation of the BI and Reporting infrastructure including evaluation and recommendation of software tools, definition of hardware requirements, and system configuration.
• Leads all data and information centric initiatives including data warehouse structure, ETL processes, and external data interfaces.
• Interacts with the other departments to understand and identify data needs and requirements. Works with other members of the IT organization to deliver warehouse and reporting solutions to address those needs.
• Interacts with data analysts in IT and other departments to understand the documentation and training requirements needed to efficiently utilize the BI infrastructure including the development and maintenance of an enterprise metadata repository.
• Provides ongoing support of production BI environments.
• Monitors performance of all warehouse and reporting systems; provides ongoing performance tuning, reviews logs, cleans temp files and all other administrative issues required to ensure applications and databases are performing efficiently.
