The Business Intelligence team is responsible for delivering key set of capabilities across all our high volume, high traffic applications. The intelligence derived from our tools helps internal and external partners make better informed decisions. The enterprise we are building is based on open-source components and off-the-shelf hardware, with the capability to cascade, and partition horizontally and vertically. It provides unlimited scalability, along with built-in fault tolerance and hot failover capabilities; mining, analyzing, and feeding real-time decision support systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6+ years of hands on experience developing software systems
  • Experience in and understanding of SQL and Unix.
  • Must have good experience programming in Java. Candidates without Java must have strong C++ skills and a solid understanding of Object-Oriented design.
  • Must have experience in data modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple RDBMS’s
  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • “Ideal” candidate will have some experience with statistical learning

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Prior experience designing and developing BI platforms/tools
  • Experience with dimensional modeling, data warehousing/data marts, ETL
  • Experience with PostgreSQL would be helpful but not required.

Job Description

Senior Fraud Analyst (Los Angeles)

The Senior Fraud Analyst position requires hands on experience in statistical analysis, modeling, and advanced SAS and SQL programming skills. You will need at least Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, or an equivalent combination of experience. RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will work with a group of economists and meteorologists that forecast electricity demand from 2 hours ahead to 25 years ahead. You will be responsible for developing the long-term forecasts, from 6 months to 25 years ahead, and will be expected to develop forecasting models relating electricity use by customer class to various economic, demographic, and price variables, including the effects of policy variables such as energy efficiency and self-generation installations by customers. You will also work on analyzing demographics and economic factors that influence load growth and new customer acquisition, and analyze third-party forecasts of the economy to develop an area-specific economic outlook. You will work with short-term forecasters to develop a forecast of the hourly electricity load shape, and to adjust recorded sales for average weather conditions and variations in billing and tracking and reporting.

Sales Data Strategist - Network Solutions (Herndon, VA)


As a member of the Sales and Service team, you will be dedicated to architecting a companywide Data Strategy, managing the purchase of multiple lists, and delivering the appropriate data for new customer acquisition and base campaigns. These campaigns will include outbound calling, direct mail and email for the Telesales and Direct Sales organizations to achieve performance targets. You will have the opportunity to deliver immediate impact by overlaying this new data strategy on the basic campaign management plan that exists today.

The Data Strategist role is a strategic and cross-functional role, working to build a data strategy which includes an understanding of the charter of each sales organization and their target markets. You will need to determine when to purchase a list or to use an internal data source that will best align to the target prospect profiles of each part of the sales organization. You will determine what data is required on a campaign by campaign basis (name, title, size, URL, etc) to meet the objectives of the campaigns that are developed by the Product Marketing organization. You will build and maintain the model that determines the pipeline of leads that are required for each channel to meet revenue targets, measure the quality of lists purchased, determine which list vendors we will develop a long standing relationship with, and make recommendations for process improvements.

Job Duties:

  • Develop a data strategy to support multiple channels within the organization and multiple campaigns simultaneously across the organization in a cohesive and complementary fashion
  • Has first hand knowledge of or can independently find credible sources of external data to support Telesales and direct sales outbound calling, direct mail, email campaigns and/or seminars and webinars
  • Work with the internal EDS team to deliver the data that meet the target profiles of new acquisition targets that map to campaigns that MARCOM has designed
  • Work with the internal EDS team to deliver the data that meet the target profiles of the customer base for up sell and cross sell campaigns that MARCOM has designed
  • Multitask and provide data sets for different campaigns launching at the same time
  • Purchase multiple data sets for the same campaign for the purposes of testing to determine which lists are of higher quality and are the most successful which will then become a stable part of monthly recurring campaign schedule
  • Work with the MARCOM department to set up robust metrics, analytics and reporting
  • Negotiate terms, and develop long term relationships with the best list vendors that can provide data sets that not only match the target profile but are proven out in the call centers
  • Manage the pipeline of leads needed to support each channel to allow them to hit revenue targets
  • Develop the velocity model of monthly leads needs by channel to hit specific unit and product goals

Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred with 5-7 years of experience previously developing and executing a successful companywide data strategy
  • Knowledge of industry best practices on data strategy
  • Analytical and excellent problem solving skills
