Web Data Analyst (New York, NY)

The College Board, a national educational organization, is seeking a Web Data Analyst to join our collegeboard.com team. This professional will collect, analyze, and report web information relevant to operational and corporate metrics. Therefore, a background in web metrics (tracking and reporting, as well as analytics) is preferred.

The Analyst will:

  • Use SQL and SPSS to fulfill data requests, perform analyses, and write sophisticated ad hoc queries.
  • Generate, distribute, and present reports and analysis across the organization.
  • Manipulate available databases and perform data analysis & reporting to understand customer preferences, site usage, and to track trends.
  • Use query and analysis tools to define and track key performance metrics related to business performance, identify failure points or opportunities for improvement, and provide insights into key business and customer activities.
  • Provide research, analysis and support for developing business initiatives, perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to better understand customer positioning, and prepare presentation documents.
  • Work with internal clients to perform analyses, and implement recommendations.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, computer information systems, or a related field, and no more than 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience. Demonstrated expertise with SQL and MS Excel (including experience writing queries and statements using SQL), experience with statistics, and data analysis & presentation skills are required. Prior experience measuring & analyzing Web business performance preferred(WebTrends, Omniture, SurfAid experience a plus). We seek candidates who possess strong problem solving & analytic skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; knowledge of statistics and measurement principles; good organizational skills; strong attention to detail; strong experience with Microsoft Office applications and the Internet; and strong knowledge of database structure and design.
