Vice President of Market Assessment (Denver, CO)

COMPANY

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to Senior Vice President, Portfolio Strategy, this individual will support portfolio strategy asset allocation, and asset management to develop investment strategies for each market. He/she will recommend forecasted revenue and expense growth for various U.S. markets by identifying and recommending third party data sources. This will also involve managing external vendors along the budget. This person will validate third party forecasts for various markets to determine the predictability of future growth. The VP of Market Assessment will work with local AIMCO asset management team members, regional brokers, and others to identify risks and leading indicators for improving and declining financial performance.

This individual will work with AIMCO’s asset management team to help develop investment strategies for each market by identifying the most attractive submarkets to allocate capital based on risk and return. He/she will communicate the corporate portfolio strategy initiatives to asset managers for incorporation into the investment strategy for each market.

The Vice President of Market Assessment will support the portfolio strategy and asset allocation activities by identifying opportunistic markets for investments and recommending capital allocation assessments in each market to manage risk and return of the total portfolio.

He/she will have access to AIMCO and third party predictive information for market and submarket revenue and expense growth. This individual will partner with the Vice President of Analytics to advance proprietary models for each market and will incorporate market/submarket predictions into long-term investment plans for each property and corporate asset allocation decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Our successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience with increasing responsibility in real estate market research and analysis. A thorough understanding in research techniques involving research design along with advanced statistical analyses is a must. The successful candidate must have the ability to draw the appropriate insights by conducting, interpreting, and evaluating multivariate statistical techniques and analysis. He/she must have experience evaluating various types of real estate investments by assessing the attractiveness of each based on financial and portfolio quality measures. The successful candidate must be able to collaborate with investment / transactional executives while handling ambiguity, high workload, attention to detail, and strict deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must for this position. Our successful candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.   • Work with and on behalf of agency clients to develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies.

Summary

The primary focus of this position is on HR metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
