Merchandising Metadata Consultant

Job Description:

Provides Retail Software consulting services, within a team setting, to develop and implement merchandise planning, allocation and reporting solutions to our clients.

  • Gather information from clients and internal partners
  • Translate information into requirements
  • Translate requirements into mathematical models
  • Troubleshoot issues, present solutions and negotiate gaps
  • Advise clients on best practice solutions as it relates their respective business
  • Organize/manage time and deliverables across multiple clients
  • Coach/mentor client users and other technical staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • A minimum of five years experience in the retail industry with emphasis on one or more of the following: purchasing, merchandise planning, allocation.
  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Mathematics, Accounting, or other quantitative field/practice area.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including ability to communicate with users with various technical backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Leads system architecture definition and project implementation; works on problems of diverse scope; demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Ability to conceptualize client needs and translate them into specific implementation strategies.
  • Travel as business requirements dictate.

Preferences
  • Superior skills using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to query and execute scripts against Oracle Databases.
  • Ability to develop and understand mathematical models.
  • Sound understanding of Retail Mathematics.
  • Sound understanding of Purchasing/Merchandise. Planning/Allocation processes.
  • Prior business consulting experience in an internal/external setting.
  • Experience with merchandise planning systems.
  • Experience with software implementation and change management.
  • Experience with business process mapping and development.

The level of this position will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, education and skills. This is a six-figure combined compensation position including full benefits.

  • Recent Ph.D in statistics or related applied field (such as econometrics, psychometrics, decision sciences, marketing research, or operational research).
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Bayesian methods and (optionally) has exposure of doing estimation with Monte Carlo Markov Chain methods.
  • Must demonstrate creative statistical thinking for problems and familiarity with techniques like factor and cluster analysis, modeling/estimation with unbalanced panel data, multidimensional scaling and latent variable modeling/estimation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Data management/exploration to recommend performance modeling/tuning

Statistician / Data Analyst (Dover, NH)

Position Summary

Under the limited supervision of the Manager of Data Analysis, responsible for statistical analysis, data management, validation of data integrity, and preparation of data obtained from student assessment results and related efforts.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the data analysis requirements of assigned contracts and the analysis procedures applied to those contracts.
  • Design and implement analysis procedures for generating student-, class-, school-, district-, and state-level results, when applicable.
  • Perform thorough and accurate data management and analysis on large-scale assessment data, according to Measured Progress and industry standards and within contractually prescribed deadlines.
  • Assemble reporting database tables that are accurate, relative to collected information.
  • Interface with psychometricians, report programmers, and quality- assurance specialists to review and update existing project work to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Create and conduct quality-control checks on data, from initial delivery from Data Processing to final analysis results, in order to ensure the accuracy of high-stakes public reports.
  • Work collaboratively with Data Processing to define data structures and content (i.e., file layout) and validate data integrity.
  • Create and update documentation supporting analyses such as decision rules and programming guides.
  • Use statistical software packages such as SAS in support of analyses and studies.
  • Respond appropriately and promptly to quality-assurance issues and concerns.
  • As the secondary data analyst to assigned contracts, assist the primary data analyst in performing above duties as needed, and take responsibility for those contracts in the absence of the primary data analyst.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and contributory role in the most current advances in the fields of educational measurement and data analysis.
  • Duties and responsibilities may, from time to time, include related or unrelated tasks that require the same or similar skills and experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Minimum of one year of experience in applied statistics/data analysis required
  • SAS programming experience required

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for cash management, various bank account reconciliations, prepaid bill back accounts, inter company receivables and weekly/monthly LLC reporting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cash Management

  • Pull daily cash management reports
  • Process outgoing wires, both US and LLC bank accounts on online banking system.
  • Process all stop payments on online banking system.
  • Transmit on a weekly/monthly basis bonus checks and direct deposits to Union Bank
  • Transmit A/P checks to Union Bank as needed
  • Responsible for positive pay
  • Prepare journal entries related to cash transactions.
  • Take out from positive pay stale dated checks and prepare related journal entries
  • Reconcile daily cash transactions for both US & International depository account.
  • Reconcile monthly both US & International disbursements and US commission bank accounts.
Intercompany
  • Prepare intercompany billings and record appropriate journal entries into the general ledger
  • Collect all intercompany receivable.
  • Reconcile intercompany receivable and payable (Americas)
Miscellaneous
  • Back-up for intercompany billings for international division
  • Update on an annual basis the Accounting manual and procedures.
  • Perform special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree (with emphasis in accounting) and 2-3 years of experience in an accounting related position
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team Oriented and self-motivated
  • Excel and Word Knowledgeable
  • Must be detail oriented. Able to handle multiple priorities and deadline.

SUMMARY

Responsible to provide timely, relevant, and accurate analysis of operational data as needed. Expected to enhance existing analysis models, manage complex data sources, and develop new models that advance the understanding of the operation. Success requires an interest in understanding the underlying business, translating statistical concepts into actionable and understandable insights, and applying appropriate levels of pragmatism and accuracy in modeling.

Forecasting & Analysis

  • Determine impact of changes to owned and total NetJets fleet counts as needed.
  • Develop and present recommendations for changes to operating model based on analytical findings.
  • Work with Crew Resource Planning, Maintenance, Flight Schedule Planning and Finance to identify opportunities for performance improvements and recommend corrective action that appropriately balances service and cost.
  • Work with Technology Services to monitor the adequacy and integrity of demand and supply databases. Develop reporting capability that supports forecasting requirements.
  • Benchmark metrics and analytical tools in similar companies and industries.
Communicator
  • Create and manage meaningful metrics used to keep the organization aware of potential demand-supply imbalances.
  • Understand business model behind each NetJets functional area.
  • Be comfortable presenting key findings to company leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related analytical field required.
  • Master’s in related field preferred
