Title: Director of Strategic Intelligence Reports to: Sr. Director of Strategic Intelligence Department: Strategic Intelligence Status: Exempt/ Management Job Objective:
This person will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of business intelligence programs. This position will consult with internal clients across the enterprise at the senior level on key business issues. This position requires a combination of business savvy and technical expertise.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with internal customers to identify key business issues. Provide business insights by developing and implementing analysis frameworks to solve business and technology problems. Synthesize team findings and communicate insights to executives.
- Lead multiple teams and work with business analysts to analyze business problems using statistical and data mining tools. Communicate findings to the necessary decision makers in different business groups. Suggest improvements, and spearhead implementation.
- Network with business managers/key sales people to understand business information needs; collect and document requirements, and deliver information solutions to support business user needs.
- Manage cross functional teams on key initiatives/projects.
- Utilize analysis to deliver actionable recommendations for business enhancements aimed at increasing lifetime profitability of key constituencies.
- Participate in creation of business plans including development of detailed forecasts that enable enhanced predictability of business results.
- Produce and deliver executive-level presentations outlining findings from key reports and analyses.
- Define business requirements for data integrity, data accessibility and reporting infrastructure and project manage implementation to meet corporate and departmental needs.
- Direct the production of daily dashboard reports and distribute to executive management with analysis of major trends or issues.
- Investigate, document and resolve data problems and verify statistical validity of reports to ensure accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical or business field, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 10-15 years experience as a business associate, working as a liaison between technical and business groups.
- Experience with Internet commerce/advertising, data mining, statistics, and forecasting.
- Ability to analyze business processes and spearhead implementation of improvements.
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, sales, servicing and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to deliver creative, actionable solutions to wide variety of groups including but not limited to technical, marketing, sales and executives.
- Big picture/Global Enterprise thinking is a must.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment with opportunities to build credibility and accountability with your clients.
- Working knowledge of web and internet technologies, search engines, HTML. Knowledge of and experience with OLAP or data warehouse reporting tools preferred.
- Familiarity with Internet audience measurement services such as Nielsen/NetRatings.
- Strong knowledge of and use of SQL, database query tools, basic database design concepts, and an understanding of physical and logical models is preferred.
- Ability to translate complex analytics concepts into business terms.
- Strong capability to surface hidden trends in business data and deliver actionable recommendations based on insightful interpretation.
- Proven ability to design and lead time-sensitive projects involving analysis, methodology development, analysis execution, strategic recommendations development, and presentation of findings to senior management.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experienced team manager.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Position requires flexibility for extensive hours, based on product development life cycle, to meet delivery dates
