Informatics Analyst
We are currently seeking a statistical innovator to research trends and payer procedures to identify inaccurate billing or payment procedures for an assigned department. West Asset Management has created their own, in-house analytics (SAS) shop in which small entrepreneurial ideas are expected. This open and collaborative environment, allows individuals to grow professionally and interact with all levels of the business and external clients. We are constantly seeking ways to become better, faster and smarter and more efficient, setting us apart from the competition. Previous exposure to medical claims is a plus!
Major Accountabilities:
- Participate in brain storming sessions to develop data information identification opportunities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in health care and payer community related to payment procedures, practices, and products
- Submit business rules to the appropriate department to address and resolve any problems expected with data outcome.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field required. Master’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Minimum four years increasingly responsible experience in research tasks involving the health care and medical insurance industry required.
- Advanced knowledge of various platforms, functions, and software (e.g., AS400, SAS, SPSS, SQL, etc.) required.
