Description

The CAT Management Specialist will oversee the databases and applications used to asses and monitor all exposures including models to assess vulnerability to natural and man-made events. Will assist the VP of CAT Management in the development of risk management tools and processes needed to monitor and control exposures. Will develop models based upon data for use by Management. Will train global users and serve as systems support to LIU staff in use of Cat Management tool.


Monitor the LIU Energy Global account portfolio with respect to Cat Hazard exposures within World Cat Enterprise.

Monitor global data input for accuracy and quality control.

Assist the CAT Manager to obtain, tabulate and prioritize monthly LIU Energy Natural Hazard Exposures overview on a global basis to keep Entity and Product Line Managers informed as to current key exposure accumulations; data modeling.

Work with CAT Manager as well as CUO and Reinsurance team to develop CAT Management portion of reinsurance treaty renewals.

Work with CAT Manager to coordinate use of standard formats for data input into World Cat Enterprise cat analysis program.

Provide technical training and user support for business groups.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (Math or Computer Science). Minimum 3 years catastrophic modeling and cat management reporting experience. Strong Excel, Access, Powerpoint and SQL. Insurance and/or reinsurance background preferred. Oral and written communication skills. Training skills.

Cat Management/Modeling Tools: EQE, RMS, AMR
