Under the limited supervision of the Manager of Data Analysis, responsible for statistical analysis, data management, validation of data integrity, and preparation of data obtained from student assessment results and related efforts.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the data analysis requirements of assigned contracts and the analysis procedures applied to those contracts.
- Design and implement analysis procedures for generating student-, class-, school-, district-, and state-level results, when applicable.
- Perform thorough and accurate data management and analysis on large-scale assessment data, according to Measured Progress and industry standards and within contractually prescribed deadlines.
- Assemble reporting database tables that are accurate, relative to collected information.
- Interface with psychometricians, report programmers, and quality- assurance specialists to review and update existing project work to improve efficiency and quality.
- Create and conduct quality-control checks on data, from initial delivery from Data Processing to final analysis results, in order to ensure the accuracy of high-stakes public reports.
- Work collaboratively with Data Processing to define data structures and content (i.e., file layout) and validate data integrity.
- Create and update documentation supporting analyses such as decision rules and programming guides.
- Use statistical software packages such as SAS in support of analyses and studies.
- Respond appropriately and promptly to quality-assurance issues and concerns.
- As the secondary data analyst to assigned contracts, assist the primary data analyst in performing above duties as needed, and take responsibility for those contracts in the absence of the primary data analyst.
- Maintain a working knowledge of and contributory role in the most current advances in the fields of educational measurement and data analysis.
- Duties and responsibilities may, from time to time, include related or unrelated tasks that require the same or similar skills and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline
- Minimum of one year of experience in applied statistics/data analysis required
- SAS programming experience required
