Mindset Media, a well financed and fast-growing internet ad network for brands is currently looking to fill a Principal Scientist position. The company has invented methods to predict human personality from anonymous clickstream data, which it uses to deliver simple, one-stop online media buys that target millions of people with the same personality type.
The Principal Scientist will be responsible for detecting patterns in large, noisy, and dynamic data sets, investigating algorithms for extracting those patterns, and participating in the implementation of a system for making classification decisions at scale. Other responsibilities include research exploring additional avenues for expanding our core product, as well as generation of intellectual property in related applications. PhD preferred. Location: Seattle / New York.
Required Skills
- Broad knowledge of data mining and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience implementing real-world predictive solutions with sparse, noisy data.
- Ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical co-workers.
- Knowledge of mathematical and statistical software packages, such as Matlab, R, Mathematica, etc.
- While not necessarily a development position, ability to write code in some high-level programming language is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to implement solutions, rather than just pursue long-term theoretical research
