Statistical Specialist - Intellectual Capital Center (Chicago, IL)

THE COMPANY

The client is a leading boutique strategy consulting firm that advises their Fortune 100 clients on profitable growth strategies. For over 30 years, the firm has focused their work on helping clients understand customer demand and align their businesses, products, and services to capture it. This is accomplished by combining proprietary understanding of market economics, primary research, and analysis with execution and organizational processes. Intellectual capital is core to the continued growth and success of the firm and keeps them ahead of their competition.

The firm has a very entrepreneurial culture and places great value on the individual contributor, and on keeping a sense of work life balance. The position is located in downtown Chicago.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Intellectual Capital, this is a unique role that combines work on client project teams with responsibility for internal initiatives that extend the firm’s core of intellectual capital. This person will be the “go to person” that has innate intellectual curiosity and the desire to stay current with new developments in the field of consumer research and statistics, and help the team apply them in groundbreaking ways that contribute to client success.

THE INDIVIDUAL

  • The successful candidate will have extensive training and experience in applying statistical techniques to answer consumer research questions. These techniques should include: discrete choice modeling and related techniques, cluster analysis, and regression analysis.
  • Candidates should have completed a graduate level degree in statistics, math, economics or a related quantitative discipline from a leading academic institution and have at least 1-3 years of work experience doing statistical analysis in an industry or consulting setting, preferably with some consumer research experience.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, as they will be required to translate into laymen’s terms complex statistical analyses. In addition, the abilities to think creatively, apply statistical analyses to concrete settings, and to adhere to tight deadlines are necessary.
