Position:

The Systems Administrator will provide technical leadership in the design, development, installation and maintenance of UNIX hardware and software for the School of Continuing and Professional Studies internet, intranet and application server systems. This position reports to the Chief Information Technology Officer.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 3 years' relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Must have experience with Sun Solaris system administration, including installation, maintenance and support, problem identification and resolution, security planning, implementation and monitoring, performance measurement and tuning, system design and configuration planning. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills are required. Knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager, J2EE and/or internet based applications, Oracle on Solaris, UNIX shell scripting, and firewall administration essential. Advanced Degree or Professional Certificate in Computer Sciences preferred.
