The Technical Marketing Analyst will work closely with Shutterfly’s Marketing and Business Development teams in identifying and answering key Business questions. Responsibilities will include the definition of relevant metrics, report design, and providing Management with clear insights into growth drivers and risks and opportunities for the business. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor in a high-energy growth environment. The position will report to the Manager of Business Intelligence
Responsibilities include:
- Working with cross-functional teams across Shutterfly’s Product and Consumer Marketing teams to achieve solutions
- Providing statistical and technical expertise throughout the Marketing and Business Development teams
- Advising and problem solving on website analytics data needs
- Defining and setting up queries for marketing managers, running against the Shutterfly’s data warehouse
- Return on investment (ROI) analysis for all promotional campaigns including e-mail and direct mail
- Drawing Insights and recommendations on website-related metrics
- Tracking and measuring the efficacy of acquisition and retention programs
- Ad Hoc analysis
Experience & Requirements:
- B.S. degree with strong emphasis on Business, Economics, Math, Operations, Statistics or related fields
- 2-5 years experience working on large and complex analysis problems
- Experience in an online marketing organization, e-commerce, or retail company is a plus
- Experience measuring and analyzing marketing campaign performance, acquisition programs, loyalty and other retention programs, customer lifecycle, etc
- Proficiency with statistical software packages such as SPSS, R/SPLUS, Mathematica, or Matlab
- Knowledge of web analytics (conversion, campaigns, funnels) and associated system, such as Omniture
- MS Access and/or Oracle SQL Developer savvy; Excel power user
- Superior statistical and quantitative reasoning skills (e.g. forecasting key metrics, regression, correlation analyses, and economic modeling)
- Experience working with large systems and data sets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of strategic and competitive issues
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-growth environment
