Job Description

Re-engineers business operations to improve business results and operational effectiveness. Evaluates complex business requirements and models data and / or system requirements. Analyzes and documents complex business problems. Develops and implements business testing strategies. Coordinates upgrades and rollouts of larger more complex projects. Leads projects or sub-projects.

Requirements

The Sr Business Data Analyst is a key role within the Liberty Mutual Personal Market organization. As the company focuses on maintaining a competitive advantage in the marketplace, providing business managers with high quality information is critical to the success of the business. The business analysts are at the heart of the information delivery program and a key component of providing high quality data in a timely manner.

This individual will be working closely with the business and data warehouse and business intelligence teams on tasks such as ensuring data requirements are complete and accurate, analyzing current and proposed data feeds, mapping reporting requirements to source data, developing data models and data definitions, and ensuring data quality.

The Sr. Business Analyst will also be working with global project teams and business communities to assist in the definition and documentation of scope and functional requirements for data and reporting needs; as well as performing assessments and evaluations of the data to ensure compliance with business needs and quality standards.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with identified business reporting and data users on the effective definition and delivery of information via the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence tools.
• Assist in the design and development of Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence solutions, which incorporates data models, back and front-end extraction processes, data transformation, and load processing.
• Perform ad-hoc data investigation, profiling and analysis to address inquiries and monitor data quality and integrity.
• Drive reporting requirements with key stakeholders in order to deliver functional reporting metrics through a Business Intelligence platform.


Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years related experience. Extensive knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies as well as business process and information flow. Understanding of business practices common across many businesses. Extensive understanding of re-engineering approaches. General knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies. General knowledge of diverse technologies and new and current architectures. Skills in object, data and / or process modeling; financial analysis and planning, business value analysis; business process design. Negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
CPCU preferred. Experience in creating and analyzing reports and data to support business decision making . General knowledge of data warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts, strategies and methodologies.
