Job Description
Manages a project of high risk and value (providing a change to technology or business direction) or a product, operation or portfolio. Projects, products or operations are generally more critical and have broader scope and more impact than those delivered by individual contributors. Manages team which is generally composed of a minimum of 8-10 people.
Requirements
In this position you will work closely with Boston Home Office and Regional stakeholders, both at a senior level and at the analyst level to develop a new strategy and organizational model to support data stewardship. Additionally, you will also research, develop, or implement new tools designed to capture and track all of the data elements available in the EDW and also all related business metrics. It is expected that you will have a significant role in beginning the process of driving collaboration around defining our core business metrics as part of redefining how the data stewardship process will work. In-depth understanding of the base technical architecture and data structures of the Personal Market Enterprise Data Warehouse. You will need to understand key business metrics and how they drive operational outcomes. You will be required to understand what types of analytical studies the business needs and how to best support these in terms of common metrics, data and tools (access methods). You will be responsible for project managing a pool of Business Systems Analysts. You will need to “manage” the interests of multiple stakeholder groups including IT and senior management. Act as a change agent, while serving as a catalyst for new ideas on how to leverage data, information, and business intelligence and analytical tools. You will be required to mentor the business systems analysts assigned to the initiative as well as other business systems analysts and information technology developers in how the business metrics are used to monitor and inform the management of the business. Experience using relational databases, extracting and manipulating information using query tools employing Structured Query Language (SQL) and Teradata SQL preferred. Experience with data management quality controls
Proficiency with database query applications and data analysis techniques.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, Master's Degree preferred. Generally a minimum of 8 years related experience with 3 years in leadership role desirable. In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies. Thorough knowledge of business functions and thorough knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies. In-depth knowledge of project planning methodologies and tools and IT standards and guidelines. Knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques. Ability to promote a team environment. Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills. Strong oral and written communications skills; presentation skills.
