Description

Lockheed Martin is looking for a database administrator to provide technical support for multiple SQL Server databases on many servers in production, development and test environments. Primary duties are to:

* Monitor availability and performance of production databases and servers;

* Daily database maintenance, user assistance and troubleshooting;

* Analyze and resolve complex technical problems, including performance tuning, and application design and debugging;

* Install and configure new servers and databases;

* Conduct/support OS and hardware maintenance in coordination with system group;

* Participate and perform migrations into Development/Production environments;

* Monitor database backups and maintain recovery procedures;

* Administer and follow SQL Server and other security standards;

* Plan database and server level capacity according to statistics and user requests;

* Work through disaster recovery plans with other groups and departments;

* Communicate/work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

* Hands-on experience in database administration and SQL usage;

* 3+ years of MS SQL Server database administration experience using SQL Server 2000 and 2005;

* Experience in large databases, supporting OLTP applications, and Replication technologies;

* Strong verbal and written communication skills;

*MS SQL DBA Assessment needs to be completed
